Re-design of the DJCAD Coffee Club.
The Coffee Club used to be a hive of activity in DJCAD both day and night, now it sits as a
forgotten storage space filled with unused university furniture and materials.
What if we were to return the space back to its former Coffee Club glory days and an intimate
space that encourages small group activity and interaction?
My design focuses on intimacy and the history of DJCAD, by creating a space that can be used
both day and night, the forgotten space will get all the attention it deserves as well as creating
a haven for students and lecturers alike. With 3 areas of varying intimacy the space provides
comfort and release for everybody.
A large bar/café encourages private conversation, whilst the nightclub encourages you to let
loose and become one with the crowd, finally the music lounge encourages a relaxed
atmosphere where likeminded people can interact and share experiences.
